Luke's Senior Portraits | Choosing a great location | Northern MN

August 10, 2017

A Senior portrait session in the north woods of Minnesota? Who'd say no to that! I jumped at the chance to photograph Luke, a Colorado high school senior, at the family cabin the summer before his senior year. An important place to him that he has been spending his summers at since he was a kid.

Choosing a location that is meaningful makes for a stunning session that is treasured for years to come. I have found that choosing a location is especially important for a senior portrait session when you are defining who you are as you either enter or are in your senior year of high school. Here are a couple tips of what to consider when choosing your senior portrait photographer and location.

     1. Are there any locations that you have special access to?

     2. Where do you enjoy spending time?

     3. Who will you need a permit or permission from?

     4. Are there activities you like doing that could be photographed

His Mom also hired me to do their family portraits as well over the weekend that we spent at the cabin.
